Our Services

Oil and Gas Development

Barron has provided cultural resource support for hundreds of individual well pads, large oil and gas fields, and interstate pipelines. Oil and Gas have been our primary revenue stream since our founding in 2017. We facilitate Section 106 compliance on behalf of our clients, usually working with the Bureau of Land Management, United States Forest Service, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and numerous State historic preservation offices. Our main office is within the Powder River Basin, a major energy-producing region. We have also worked extensively in oil and gas fields in North Dakota, eastern Montana, and southwest Wyoming.

Federal Projects

Barron has performed Class III survey of well over 50,000 acres for federal projects throughout the Rocky Mountains, including Colorado, Montana, South Dakota, and Wyoming. We hold multi-year contracts with the United States Forest Service in relation to timber management and logging projects. We have conducted dozens of large surveys for the Bureau of Land Management in relation to vegetation management projects, road and trail development, habitat management, and historic preservation. We have assisted the Department of Defense in evaluating historic military buildings for the National Register of Historic Places. We have also worked extensively with the Bureau of Reclamation and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, as well as numerous state agencies. We have received excellent performance ratings from all agencies and field offices we have worked with.

Telecommunications Projects

Barron assists the completion of numerous telecommunications projects, including individual cellular towers and major fiber optic lines. This has included extensive experience with the Federal Communications Commissions “E106” review process, viewshed analysis in dense historic districts, pedestrian survey, and tribal engagement.

Historic Property Reviews

Barron has conducted reviews and National Register evaluations for all manner of historic properties, including large archaeological districts, historic urban areas, large mine complexes, and nationally significant historic trails. We have completed architectural reviews and HABS/HAER documentation for historic buildings ranging from military storage facilities to nineteenth century residences.
